September

Wyatt:   You have now been in Kindergarten for two weeks.  I can't believe how fast this is going already.   You were fine going on the bus the first day--very brave and excited.
It was raining, so we had to take your picture on the porch.

Daddy was excited to be there to see you off.
You got to choose where to sit.  You sat in the front seat, and I've never seen you sit anywhere else since then.

The only time I got teary was when you were pulling away.
I was anxious all day.  I kept looking at the clock, eagerly awaiting the time when I could see you again and find out about your first day.   I even set the oven timer so I'd be sure not to be late.  And then...

Success!  You were still in one piece, and smiling to boot!  When I asked you about your first day, you were so excited to tell me about your lunch.  You reported that your chicken patty was an OVAL, and so big that you had to gnaw off the sides before you could even pick it up.  This was definitely the highlight of your day.  You also told me that you made a friend--you just didn't know his name, yet.  :)
Since then, you've been happy to go to school every day.  You say that Mrs. Haagen is nice and you made two more friends. You even know all of your friends' names!  (Ian, Austin, and Grady)
By the time you get home from school, you seem to be on overload, so I never really get good answers to the "What did you do at school today?" query.  I'll just have to keep trying...

Lily:     You have been very busy this month!  You are constantly drooling on, chewing on, and spitting up on practically everything in sight.  In the past two weeks you have learned how to grab your crinkle book and put it in your mouth.  This is the first "toy" you've ever really used.  You are also starting to make new sounds.   You've found that when you press your lips together and blow out, you can make Mama laugh.  You talk to me all the time, now.

I was worried that since I'd already been through these developmental stages with Wyatt, your progress might not be so amazing.  I was completely wrong.  You are your own remarkable little person, and I am in awe of your changes.  I just can't wait to wake up in the morning to see what new things you will show me!

I don't think it's possible to have bigger eyes than this!
Grandma, you, and I went to visit new baby Oliver last week.
We called you "Godzilla" because you were so much bigger than him!  You are, by far, the cutest Godzilla I've ever seen.  :)
